Nevada... 2009
In Fall 2009, my twin sister, April, and I both accepted positions as Ecological Technicians at Ash Meadows National Wildlife Refuge in southern Nevada. We had the fantastic opportunity to work in a truly beautiful and unique place, with some extraordinary people. While we were there, we worked on terrestrial and aquatic invasive species control, as well as concentrated on the Fairbanks Spring system restoration in the Upper Carson Slough. If you are ever in the area and would like to escape the Las Vegas congestion, take a day trip to Ash Meadows and learn about this exquisite oasis and all it has to offer!
